Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about our pizza and baking workshops, events, and community initiatives.
🍕 Classes & Workshops
What types of pizza and baking classes do you offer?
We host both virtual and in-person workshops covering everything from mastering wild yeast sourdough to stretching dough, firing up residential pizza ovens (wood and gas), and perfecting topping combinations.Do we get to eat pizza during the class?
Absolutely! Eating the pizza is half the fun. Throughout the class, we will stretch, top, and fire multiple pies together so you get to sample different flavor combinations, crust textures, and styles straight out of the oven.
Where do you teach the classes?
We offer a few flexible options! We host private, hands-on masterclasses at our base in Westchester County, NY, but we also frequently travel across the Tri-State area for private home events, pop-ups, and corporate workshops. Virtual consultations are also available worldwide.
How many people can be in a class?
To ensure everyone gets plenty of dedicated, hands-on attention while shaping dough and launching pies, we typically limit standard private classes to up to 6 participants. However, we are completely open to larger groups! For milestone celebrations, big family gatherings, or corporate team-building events, please reach out so we can customize a layout that fits your space and headcount.
Do I need prior baking experience to take a class?
Not at all! Our absolute favorite students are total beginners. Pizza and baking should be all about having fun, making a bit of a mess, and enjoying great food with great company. We firmly believe that anyone can make amazing pizza at home, we break everything down into simple, stress free steps. No intimidation, no pressure—just a good time and the confidence to bake something incredible!
Do I need a professional outdoor pizza oven to take a class?
No. While we frequently demo on high-performance backyard pizza ovens, we teach adaptable techniques so you can bake incredible, crispy pies in standard home kitchen ovens using a pizza stone or steel. Can I book a private event or corporate team-building workshop?
Yes! We offer customized private group classes for corporate events, parties, or family gatherings. Please reach out via our contact form or email us at realcleverfood@gmail.com for pricing and availability.
đź“… Booking & Custom Quotes
How much do private cooking classes and events cost?
Because every event is unique, we provide customized quotes based on your group size, location, and specific setup. For our classic 2 to 3-hour private experiences, packages typically start at $350. Final totals are fully customized to your specific needs, and standard travel expenses may be added depending on your distance. Please email us at realcleverfood@gmail.com with your estimated guest count, preferred date, and event location for a tailored proposal. Are ingredients provided for private classes?
Yes! We bring everything needed to make a classic, delicious Margherita pizza. You are always welcome to supplement the class with your own favorite ingredients, or for an extra fee, we can accommodate many or most specialty topping requests. Let us know what you have in mind when you reach out!
Will you bring ovens for cooking the pizza?
Yes, if needed! If you have an outdoor space and a propane tank hookup available, I will bring one of my portable outdoor pizza ovens straight to your location. For indoor home classes, we can also easily teach you how to maximize your standard kitchen oven using a baking steel or stone setup.
